I'm also proving there is no problem with the device driver, or my kernel, or some other factor since anything except VLC2 can open and decode the image properly. Now, this is how it would look in VLC 1.1.9, or in this case MPlayer since I can't downgrade to VLC 1.1.x anymore:Īll I am doing is opening device /dev/video0 and forcing NTSC mode, nothing else. This is a snapshot of a media player captured from my TV using the Dazzle, taken from VLC2: For the time being I can use 1.1.9 and have a quickpkg of 2.0.4 so I can quickly swap versions at will. EDIT: I modified the 1.1.9 ebuild to be compliant and am able to downgrade. Therefore I have no choice but to figure out this problem with VLC2. VLC 1.1.9 was working properly with this device.
DAZZLE DVC 100 DRIVER LINUX MINT INSTALL
I have made a binary package based on my 1.1.9 install and because the ebuild is now "corrupt" I can no longer downgrade even with my self-built binary package. Now, as an AMD64 Gentoo user, Portage has purged all VLC 1.1.x ebuilds and my 1.1.9 ebuild is no longer syntactically correct. (I have in fact reported this bug and it has been corrected in the 2.x branch.) I'm using a Dazzle DVC 100 which is driven by v4l2 and the kernel module em28xx (and em28xx-alsa, but I have no audio issues.) I have been using VLC 1.1.9 for an extremely long time I was unable to upgrade to the later revisions of the 1.1 series because of a bug where overriding format to NTSC simply did not work, and this Dazzle defaults to PAL otherwise. I have been troubled by an issue that has surfaced ever since I have tried VLC 2.0.0.
